On Tuesday, June 6th, 2023, Luxembourg Times went live on the Mediahuis CUE Platform. Luxembourg Times is the English version of the German-language Luxembourg daily newspaper named Luxembourger Wort. The newspaper dates to 1848 and was first published three days after press censorship was abolished.
Luxembourg Times went live with both news apps for iOS and Android, as well as the website www.luxtimes.lu. This is the third title in Luxembourg to go live on the CUE Platform, but the very first one to go live with an intelligent paywall built around Zephr customer journey builder.
Later this month the Luxembourger Wort will follow and go live on the platform as well, to complete the onboarding to the Mediahuis CUE Platform for the Luxembourg Publishing House.
The Mediahuis CUE Platform
In order to keep up with the global digitization of news, Mediahuis established a multiyear digital transformation plan. One of the most important aspects of the plan is to keep customers at the center of the work that the company produces. Furthermore, Mediahuis wants to ensure it is offering the best mobile and audio experience, working in the most efficient way in its newsrooms, and maintaining a successful print model in a growing digital world.
Keeping to that model, Mediahuis designed a publishing suite called “The Hub” which will be a collection of services tailored and used by all news brands to create, publish, and monetize content. An important objective in that strategy is a fully integrated CMS. That’s where the CUE publishing platform comes into play. The company chose CUE because they wanted true digital and mobile-first workflows that created fully responsive web experiences for readers. Mediahuis believes CUE is at the heart of its digital transformation, as they move toward a more consolidated landscape with common standards and best practices across Mediahuis’ 30+ brands.
